ご存知かもしれませんが、右、有、丸、九はノから、左、存、在等は一から始めます。特に、右と左、九と有はいつも試験にでるようです。

「左」や「友」の場合は、「右」や「有」と異なって、３つめの画は横線なので、横・縦・横という通りに書きます。逆に、「右」や「有」の場合は３つめの画は縦線なので、縦・横・縦の書き方はもっと自然だと思います。（「存」「在」は特別で、この規則は当てはまりません。）
しかし、「九」の場合には３つめの画はありません。従って、画の順番に迷ってしまいます。
日本では試験に書き順の問題が出ますか？ひど～いですよ。
