This looks very close to water.  Is there a reason for that? (still learning kanji.) :)

I read it comes from the image of a river that continues to flow endlessly :)

I use to see "JIC" in this symbol: Judaism, Islam and Christianity united in one letter: Eternity

Des Menschen Zeit so wenig, Die Gottes nur währt ewig.
The Menkind´s age so small. Just those of god´s eternal.

This is beautiful. I have to admit, I'm biased, as this is one of my favorite kanji.

Thank you for the faves!
Yes, it means eternity by itself, but if you combine it with another kanji it can mean both eternity and forever. Check these out:『永久- Eikyū』[link]
『永遠-Eien』[link]

Yes I am. Well I've been practising Shodo since I was a kid, in Japan. I've never stopped writing, but I must say lately I'm writing even more. Thank you so much for the nice comment!! Yeah it's similar to "mizu" and "koori":

Shodo is a great and cool art. Congratulations for that.

You are japanese, cool, but you are living in Italy now, right? I was in Japan during a month in 2007, a pleasure trip. It was something that I wanted to do for many years and I could made it. I live in Argentina, by the way. ;) I visited Tokyo, Nikko, Takayama, Kyoto, Hakkone and Hiroshima.

Also, in Hiroshima, we travelled to Miyajima, a little island in front of the city. Really cool. There we can see the big toori over the sea.

Well I paint them with my calligraphy brush, then take a picture of them and put them in my pc and sometimes I add a frame (usually a picture of a piece of Japanese cloth I have a home). Thank you for the nice comment!
